There has been positive news around Ole Miss over the last few weeks. However, there was a little setback earlier today with the 2024 WR recruit Jeremy Scott announcing he would be decommiting from the Rebels.

Lane Kiffin and the Rebels have been involved in positive recruiting and transfer portal news this week. However, earlier today, 2024 WR recruit Jeremy Scott announced he was decommiting from Ole Miss to open up his recruiting again.

Hailing from Jackson, Mississippi, Scott is ranked the 160th WR recruit in the 2024 class, per 247sports. The 6-foot-4 receiver is also ranked the 32nd player out of Mississippi by 247sports.

Losing an instate commit is always tough, but it also doesn’t mean he won’t end up back with the Rebels.

Ole Miss still have three wide receivers committed from the 2024 recruiting class. They have the number three ranked 2024 JUCO WR committed, per 247sports. Marquis Willis is a big-bodied receiver, weighing 225 lbs and measuring 6-foot-2.

The other 2024 WR recruits are Rahji Dennis and another Mississippi native in Sanfrisco Magee.

As it stands, Ole Miss is ranked 24th overall in the 2024 recruiting rankings, with the loss of Jeremy Scott possibly having no effect on their ranking.

Expect the ranking to change for the better over the next months, as Kiffin will be working his magic behind closed doors to get recruits in the building.
