2025 Four-star shooting guard names Ole Miss basketball amongst three finalists

Ole Miss basketball currently sits at No.13 in the 2025 team recruiting rankings per 247Sports, thanks to two four-star commits. Since Chris Beard arrived in Oxford in 2023, recruiting has been a big focus with Beard and his team of high-end recruiters. After doing what he could with the 2024 class, after starting late in the cycle., he as zoned in on the later classes.

The 2025 recruiting class has started well, with Ole Miss still having chips pushed in for several top recruits. A big chunk of those chips is on four-star shooting guard Kaden Magwood, who dropped his three finalists with the Rebels as one of those teams.

Does Ole Miss have a good chance of a commitment?

Ole Miss appears to be the closest team to recruiting Kaden Magwood. NC State and SEC rival Auburn are the two different schools that Magwood could commit to. The No. 7 player out of North Carolina, he has been complimentary about all three programs when speaking to On3 recently.

Kaden Magwood is ranked the No. 17 shooting guard per the On3 Industry Rankings and the No. 60 overall player. Ole Miss already has two top 80-ranked players committed, so this would be another top player to get. It's not guaranteed, but with the two other schools in good positions, too, it's really close at the minute.

Magwood is set to announce his commitment on Nov. 11, a week after the 2024-25 college hoops season begins. Ole Miss is also in the mix for several other top 2025 recruits, so it's going to be a busy time for Chris Beard and the team.
