If Pete Golding's first portal class getting ranked at No. 2 wasn't enough indicator of him absolutely crushing it in the transfer portal, ESPN released another stat showing it.
On3's Joke Thompson reported how five of the 28 portal commits that Ole Miss has signed so far have been ranked among ESPN's Top 100 transfer portal players.
Pete Golding scores five Top 100 transfer portal players
Former LSU CB Carius Curne (No. 55) is the Ole Miss's top get in this cycle.
"Regardless of whether Curne ends up at tackle or guard, the freshman should be a valuable addition with a bright future," ESPN's Max Olson writes.
Following Curne, the Rebels' next blue-chip commits included safety Edwin Joseph (No. 57), WR Darrell Gill Jr (No. 81), and Auburn's CB Jay Crawford (No. 93) and QB Deuce Knight (No. 94).
Pete Golding landed another top transfer class for Ole Miss in his first January at the helm of the program. Five of those players are considered among the top 100 in the transfer portal.

Gill, along with his fellow Syracuse teammate Johntay Cook II wiill be tasked with replacing the production of De'Zhaun Stribling, Harrison Wallace III, and Cayden Lee in John Baker's offense.
Auburn's Knight, on the other hand, is the Rebels' fall back plan for QB1 if Trinidad Chambliss's injunction gets denied.
Joseph and Crawford would be the pieces that add some much-needed depth and stability to Golding's roster.
However, among all of them, Curne has the heaviest positional workload to handle with the departure of PJ Wilkins, Eathan Fields, Devin Harper, and Jude Foster.
Golding managing to snag five of the Top 100 players in his first transfer portal class, right after the dramatic Kiffin exit, and in the middle of a couple of legal dramas, shows he is on the right track.
All the Rebels fans have to do is wait for the 2026 season to roll around to find out how his roster holds up.
