After having a Thanksgiving without an Egg Bowl this season, Ole Miss fans had another shocking surprise awaiting them in Stakville on Friday.
The impending decision of Kiffin and the high stakes atmosphere in Ole Miss warranted AD Keith Carter and Chancellor Glenn Boyce's attendance on field.

But it wasn't their attendance that left the audience in shock; it was their interaction with Kiffin.
Lane Kiffin warmly embraces Glenn Boyce
As Kiffin was preparing to take on Miss State in what could be his last game at Ole Miss, Boyce stepped in and shared a handshake and a hug with Kiffin.

The stiffness in the exchange just reflected how palpable the tension is in Starkville since Kiffin is still mulling his options.
Ole Miss might be ready to extend an olive branch, but the question is whether Kiffin is ready to take it?
The LSU rumors hijacking the Egg Bowl thrill made the Rebels fans believe more and more in the possibility of Kiffin potentially dinging Ole Miss right before the College Football Playoff.
The Rebels' head coach has been simply stringing along both Ole Miss and LSU fanbases for torturously long, especially when most other head coaches have taken their name out of the coaching carousel via a contract extension.
If Kiffin also plans on following the same standard format to announce if he would be staying in Oxford, the news of him signing a contract extension with Ole Miss would come very soon.
If not, then it would be a press conference with Louisiana governor Jeff Landry.
