Ole Miss needs to begrudgingly consider Rece Davis's Lane Kiffin advice

Ole Miss has every right to be infuriated with Lane Kiffin if he chooses another school over them.

But it doesn't mean they have to sabotage their chance at having a College Football run like never before in their program history.

The 2025 season has surprisingly come together much better than anticipated for Ole Miss. Which is why Rece Davis suggests the Rebels should consider letting Kiffin coach the Playoff before parting ways with him.

Should Ole Miss allow Lane Kiffin to coach Playoff?

“Ole Miss, you haven’t won anything. Let him coach. Just let him coach the team. Whether he leaves, whether he doesn’t leave, don’t impose these artificial deadlines. What in the world? Who cares?” Davis said.

“If he’s all in, coach the team, try to win a championship, see what happens, let the chips fall as they may. It might put you in better stead. At the end, he might even have a more difficult time leaving if you win a championship.”

While that is a point that remains up for debate about Kiffin staying at Ole Miss, he could at least make a case to have one last dance in the Playoff.

After all, the decision to leave Ole Miss would be just as tough for him.

“All of this is fair game because it’s a business. He has to make a business decision,” Davis said.

It might be, but Kiffin has better vision for his future than simply milking the cash cow. It seemed that his endgame at Ole Miss was a National Championship.

Given his Ole Miss squad is almost at a point where they could make the natty in the next couple of years, it would be a major factor in Kiffin's decision.

And him actually winning a national championship this season, if everything goes as Davis suggested, would make up for the craziest storyline in the history of modern day CFP that we are not ready to imagine yet amid all the Kiffin drama.
