Brother of Ole Miss player Princely Umanmielen transfers in from Nebraska

Ole Miss has seen a wave of transfers head to Oxford these last few days, bringing it to the top of the team transfer portal rankings. The latest addition was the portal's No.1 edge, Princewill Umnamielen, who transferred in from Nebraska late last night.

The name will look familiar, as his older brother Princely is also on the Ole Miss roster. Also playing from the edge position, the older Umanmielen transferred to the Rebels from Florida before the 2024 season.

247Sports ranked Princewill Umanmielen as the No.1 edge in the transfer portal and the No.4 overall player. They now have two top-ranked players from the portal, and the other offensive lineman is Patrick Kutas.

Ole Miss football secures two of the best edge transfers

The Rebels' first transfer of the 2025 portal was edge Da'Shawn Womack; now, the Rebels have added another in Princewill Umanmielen. It's likely that older brother Princely was in his siblings' ear, telling him how much he had enjoyed his year at Oxford.

Princely transferred to Ole Miss for his final year of eligibility, and it's worked wonders for his draft stock. He has become a legitimate first-round draft talent under defensive coordinator Pete Golding.

Princewill hopes to do the same, with two years of eligibility remaining. In his two seasons with Nebraska, he totaled 35 Tackles, seven TFL, and 1.5 sacks. Cornhuskers fans did not want him to leave, but several defensive players entered the portal after DC Tony White left for Florida State.

It was expected that Princewill might follow White to Florida State. Still, he decided Ole Miss was his next home, transferring to Lane Kiffin's team over Colorado, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and others.

He will have the opportunity to start on day one alongside Womack, with both starting edge players Princely Umanmielen and Jared Ivey heading for the NFL after the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.
