Ole Miss basketball is coming off a fresh 83-75 win over No. 6 Vanderbilt, and Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin saw it as the perfect chance to sell the Oxford dream.
Coach yo seized the moment as she made the perfect recruiting pitch for the Rebels during her appearance on the Stephen A. Smith Show.
"There are challenges when it comes to recruiting. But I'm telling you, when people come to Oxford, Mississippi, they commit. They fall in love. And they were doing it before NIL," McPhee-McCuin said, feeling proud of the growing success rate in her program.
"I've been doing it, and I'm having success from black, white, and European all coming to Oxford, Mississippi," she continued.
"I'm out here understanding what's going on. It is supported around here. There's a perception that we have worked really hard and we're continuing to work hard to change. And we know it's not sexy. But we want to say it can be done here. You can have success at Ole Miss. We're doing it."
Coach Yo's program is headed in the right direction
The Rebels had 9 transfers in 2025, most of whom have turned out to be major wins for Ole Miss.
Perhaps the biggest win that Coach Yo got out of her 9 transfers was Cotie McMahon.
Coach Yo is in a sweet-sweet spot to lure more recruits to the Pavilion as Ole Miss is crushing it this season with a 18-4, 5-2 SEC record.
The Rebels have another chance to set their mark in the SEC as they take on Auburn next on Feb. 2.
