Five players from Ole Miss were invited to Indianapolis ahead of the NFL Draft. 2 WRs De'Zhaun Stribling and Harrison Wallace III, DT Zxavian Harris, OT Diego Pounds, and TE Dae'Quan Wright.

Wright came in clutch in several of his plays at Ole Miss in the regular season and in their CFP run. That is why everyone had high hopes from him to impress the scouts atthe NFL Combine to elevate his draft stock.

While he got his official measurements done, the TE entirely skipped the drills at Combine, probably saving the for Pro Day at Ole Miss, where he could run it on a familiar surface.

When asked about why being a TE is important, and kind of a tough job in the NFL, Wright had the perfect answer to showcase his skills.

Dae'Quan Wright on what it's like to be a TE

"Just being a TE. It's a very hard task. You gotta know it all, you gotta do it all. You gotta know the defense, you gotta know the fronts, There's a lot going, too, you know. But just being a tight end, that has been good for me. It helped me a lot, it helped my football IQ a lot, so I'm just happy to be a tight end, and I feel like I could become the best tight end," he said.

The Rebels' player was further asked what types of routes he liked running the most, and which type of route was his favorite.

"I really do like both but I do like to show what I can do with the ball. So, I like to get short routes to show them that I got that +2 mentality every time I touch it. Maybe like a option route. So you gotta option to break out, that type of route. 5 to 6," Wright said.

NFL analyst Lance Zierlein ranks him as the fourth best TE at the Combine. Now we wait and see where the teams pick him in the 2026 NFL Draft.
