ESPN analyst believes Ole Miss is different to other teams outside the top 12 of the CFP Rankings
The first CFP Rankings were announced last night, and Ole Miss is predictably on the outside looking in. Ranked No. 16, just like in Sunday's AP Poll, the Rebels can make the top 12 if they win out.
One ESPN analyst, Greg McElroy, believes Ole Miss is not being talked about enough regarding the CFP top 12. Speaking before the CFP Rankings were announced, McElroy believes Ole Miss is an underrated team heading into the final weeks of college football despite having two losses.
Greg McElroy believes Ole Miss is one of the best teams in the nation
Greg McElroy didn't stop there with the Ole Miss praise. After the CFP Rankings were announced, he said he believes Lane Kiffin's team is one of the best in the nation.
""Based on eye test and talent, Ole Miss is among the best teams in college football. Have they shot themselves in the foot? yes, twice.""
- Greg McElroy on ESPN CFP Reveal Show
You can't argue with his point; Ole Miss has done themselves no favors by losing two games, both by three points and in both, they had opportunities to win. Luckily for the Rebels, these last two weeks have sparked something, and they are playing their best football of the season.
The team is in such a good place, especially on defense, that McElroy believes Ole Miss has the best chance they have ever had to beat Georgia when they meet on November 9.
A win on Saturday would be a statement win for the program and Lane Kiffin. It won't be easy, but these players and coaches can win. Vegas odds don't often get it wrong, and they expect this to be a close game. The recruiting section is full, as will the crowd for a program-changing game, no matter the result.
