Ole Miss has been, and continues to be the heavy underdog for New Year's Sugar Bowl clash against Georgia.
Both teams all but battled it out when they previously met in October, but Kirby Smart's electric offense came out swinging against Kiffin's.
Agreed that there is no Kiffin anymore in Oxford, but the most of the staff is the same in their play-calling duties. That, plus Georgia's constant improvement as a unit continues to keep them the massive favorites to bring the Sugar Bowl to Athens this season.
Rittenberg predicts Georgia over Ole Miss
ESPN's Adam Rittenberg ruled his prediction heavily in Georgia's favor, not expecting them to leave the CFP race this soon.
"Georgia also is playing some of its best football collectively during the stretch run, especially a defense that struggled at times against Chambliss in the first meeting," Rittenberg wrote. "I love this Ole Miss team, but I don't see Georgia exiting the playoff so soon again."
"Sugar Bowl prediction: Georgia 31, Ole Miss 21" the ESPN writer predicts.
There is every reason to believe that Ole Miss might fall short against the Bulldogs yet again, but then, there is also every reason to argue that they won't.
Charlie Weis Jr. is just there in Oxford for the Playoff, so he will be fixing everything that went wrong the last time to have his redemption while he still can.
So will Pete Golding, to enter his next season with his head held up high after getting the Rebels their regular-season revenge.
The Bulldogs can be as big of the heavy favorites as the Vegas market wants, but the on-field action will most likely be much more down-to-the-wire than last time.
