The Georgia Bulldogs showed whole college football what resilience meant as they edged out Ole Miss Rebels in a largely neck-to-neck 43-35 game.
The game was a sheer tussle between the two teams for a lead on the scoreboard, and Ole Miss was in a perfect position where a single possession could have tied the game.
That is what disappointed the Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin the most.
"I told out guys that this is exactly what you could have or could want. You know, you're going in, you're in the fourth quarter, and you're up two scores at Georgia with a chance to beat them two years in a row. So, unfortunately, we didn't do things and we didn't function on offense after five drives of five touchdowns," Kiffin said, voicing how letdown he was in the offense's performance in the last quarter.
The issue is the same as last week, just carried forward to this one. Though Ole Miss performed a lot better than they did against Washington State, they still ended up breaking their undefeated record.
Ball game.

Ole Miss shredded Georgia’s defense for a total of 338 yards through three quarters. The Bulldogs held the Rebels to just 13 yards in the fourth.

The offense had 5 touchdowns after all, three coming from Chambliss and the other two from Kewan Lacy. But the fourth quarter is where they severely underperformed.
No doubt the offense had top-tier production as they averaged for13.3 yards per game, and 37.8 total points per game, but it was their underwhelming performance in the fourth quarter that cost them what could have been another thumping win.
Insult to injury was the defense allowing two touchdowns, plus another successful field goal attempt.
"So there were a lot of guys making a lot of plays during those drives offensively. I mean, that's just a formula to not win. Usually, you would think you would get blown out. You know, they score every time they have the ball, and you have 34 first downs."
"But when you're in a game like that, you just got to keep scoring. And we didn't do that in the fourth quarter."
And that's precisely what Georgia did in the fourth quarter, and throughout the game. It was their formula to winning.
