Maybe it is the air of Baton Rouge, but Lane Kiffin is ditching the drama at his new place.

Ole Miss successfully lured LSU's general manager, Frank Wilson, to the Grove after Kiffin left for Wilson's former workplace.

Kiffin, the person who burned every bridge with Ole Miss in the most dramatic way possible, let Wilson leave without any snide social media comment or an even more condescending mention during his media appearances.

No drama, just a simple, clean exit.

Frank Wilson's exit experience with Lane Kiffin

"We talked about ways that it could work out,” Wilson said before the Texas Bowl at 8:15 p.m. CT Saturday. “Coach Kiffin was absolutely awesome the entire time and wanted to try to find a way to work it out. We didn't come to that resolution. And so there were other opportunities out there.”

Calmness coming from Kiffin when it's about an exit of his staffer, that too for his former school where he is the villain, is something that sounds like a straight-up pipe-dream to anyone who has been following the Kiffin drama.

"We forged an even closer bond and mutual respect professionally for one another,” Wilson continued. “So when the opportunity came, he extended himself to me, and I thought it was a great fit for myself and for my family.”

When asked, Wilson did not specify the off-field role he was offered at LSU.

“We just couldn't come to a conclusion. But all those things were on the table. We had options on the table. Coach (Kiffin) was awesome. I have no qualms with Coach Kiffin. He's going to do an outstanding job. He's assembled a great staff. He'll be fantastic.”

“I just think there's a lot of optimism, a lot of opportunity to do things that have never been done in Oxford, Mississippi. And I think very highly of Pete Golding and who he is, as a person, who he is as a football coach, and the staff that he's assembled," he added about Golding.

As surprising as no drama from Kiffin might be, it will only be so long before he backslides into being the same ole dramatic mess.
