We're officially in the Lane Kiffin Bowl week! After months of anticipation surrounding what Florida visiting Ole Miss would look like in the thick of all the rumors sending him to Gainesville, the matchup week is here.

The Gators visits Oxford this Saturday in a late kickoff. However, the expectations from Florida to pull a stunning upset like last season is close to zero with their program in shambles after Billy Napier's firing.

Ever since interim head coach Billy Gonzales has taken over the head coaching duties, the Gators have not won any game.

A 9-1 Ole Miss, on the other hand, has been on a roll with their three-win streak after their single loss to Georgia.

Even the odds favor the Rebels to be the heavy favorites to hold off Florida this time, settling their cut throat head-to-head record.

Weather report

The weather on Saturday is expected to be the best kind for an evening football game. After an expected high of 75°F (24°C) during the day, the temperature will cool down as the night progresses, making it a cool and comfortable weather ranging between 70s to 60s during the kickoff.

Very slim to no chance of precipitation, with mild 5-10 mph breeze is expected to make the evening even better.

It looks like ideal conditions for a late-season SEC football game!

Series history

Ole Miss- Florida has to be the hottest non-traditional rivalry in college football. All the rumors making Kiffin the top head coaching candidate at Florida just heightens the stakes further in a rivalry that has been brewing beneath the surface ever since they first took on each other in 1926.

It is also the perfect occasion for Kiffin to settle the record against the Gators, while taking revenge for their upset lost last season with this game. After all, all that the Rebels need is this one win to tie their head-to-head 13-12-1 record that Florida currently leads.

The win would also break the three-win streak Florida holds as a sword over the Rebels.

Ole Miss has not won a single time against the Gators in the last decade. First in 2015, then in 2020, and then again in 2024, Florida has held the Rebels at bay to bring home the win.

This time around, however, the Rebels look formidable enough to put an end to this list.
