The second CFP rankings released on Tuesday dropped a bombshell on the Ole Miss Rebels, as they dropped to No. 7 to make room for the Texas Tech at No. 6.

Opinions are widely divided on the CFP committee's decision with some vehemently vouching for the Rebels superior strength of schedule, while the others shield the Red Raiders with their dominant victory over a ranked opponent in BYU.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, however, has been clear on what should be the undisputed solution in a situation.

"Ask Vegas," Kiffin has always said, whenever he has talked about the CFP rankings.

So today, we're going down the Kiffin road and betting on Vegas.

Not who's better and who's not, or whether the rankings are fair or not, just simply what the oddsmakers are saying.

Ole Miss or Texas Tech: Who is the higher CFP favorite?

What Kiffin has in Ole Miss is quiet, assured confidence in their strength of schedule. And even the bookies agree with it.

According to FanDuel's 'Odds to Make the College Football Playoff' futures market, the OIe Miss Rebels have a higher chance than texas Tech to make it to the CFP.

Ole Miss's moneyline is at -2000 which translates to roughly 95.2% playoff probability. Whereas the Texas Tech has a -800 on their moneyline, rounding up to about 88.9% probability.

Similarly, BetMGM puts Ole Miss's moneyline at -2000 with a 95.2% probability, whereas the Red Raiders are at a -1100 moneyline with a 91.7 probability.

Coming back to Kiffin's confidence, it is clear that Vegas reflects it too.

"Again you talk about those two teams right there. Put them on a neutral site. Las Vegas. Who would win? What’s the spread? And that, to me, shows more than people sitting around a room just guessing," Kiffin said on Monday in his press conference, when discussing whether Texas A&M should get the No. 2 spot.

It applied equal parts to Ole Miss.

All that said, the remaining two weeks, especially Week 12, is expected to shake up the rankings wildly, with ranked opponents taking on teams that could potentially pull an upset over them.

Then there's also Ole Miss taking on Florida, a win that they are waiting for, for the past decade.

We'll see how the rankings turn out after the roller coaster week.
