There. It's finally out. An official player confirmed that tampering runs rampant in college football.

Virginia Tech's Kemari Copeland's recent interview is going viral for all the right reasons. Dabo Swinney's allegations on Ole Miss, and everything that has been going down after it made tampering the hot offseason narrative.

Until now, there were just reports from insiders and ESPN, a verbal concencus if you say, that tampering was everywhere in college football.

However, there was no official proof that could give the Rebels some leverage. Copeland's honesty about how bad the situation is might have just handed it to Ole Miss.

Ole Miss too has a receipt, thanks to Kemari Copeland

“Tampering in college football is a real thing, and I’m gonna talk about it,” Copeland said. “Basically, what tampering is, is when coaches or people illegally recruit you, like when they’re not supposed to."

Copeland then went on to describe his experience with tampering back in 2025, and he brought the receipts. Copeland shared the actual screenshot of the tampering message sent by the school, which he didn't name, sent him.

“Good afternoon,” the text read. “I have a minimum [scratched out] the table for you in the fall portal. Not sure if you have even thought about the transfer portal but would love to connect with you and your folks about the opportunity this week if you have some availability.”

At the end, the DL stated the plain truth: “Everyone knows it happens, but no one wants to say it out loud,” Copeland said. “This happens to all the good players — this happens to everyone.”

The statement is the ultimate shield for the Rebels, at least for now.

Luckily, Golding isn't alone in this anymore. CSC has launched an official investigation into several other schools, including LSU, for similar reasons.

Only time can tell what the storyline unfolds in the future.
