The post-Lane Kiffin era was one of the hardest times fo the season for Ole Miss Rebes, and Kiffin made it even harder sitting in his shiny new office in LSU by waging a war to get the Rebel's star running back Kewan Lacy to Baton Rogue.
The star RB, however, picked loyalty with his program, even when he had multiple schools lining up with much more lucrative offers for him.
Kewan Lacy reveals why he declined all offers
"There was a lot of schools, great opportunities. But I just felt like what we’ve built at Ole Miss is remarkable. The people we got coming back, we’ve got Trinidad [Chambliss] coming back, the receivers, and then the people we got out of the portal for the defense, I just feel like we’re building something special," Lacy said.
He further emphasized hopw he trusts Pete Golding to lead his team to the right direction, despite the lingering doubts surrounding him due to his inexperience in coaching.
"I trust Pete [Golding] to lead us in the right direction," the Rebels running back added in his interview.
It was rare to see both Trinidad Chambliss and Lacy returning to Oxford for another season when they had other, and better options. Chambliss even went out of his way to a courtroom fight to play for another year.
The duo will not only be a menace for the elite defences in 2026, but they will also be serious Heisman candidates with the right limelight on them this year to actually book a seat in New York in 2026.
