Kewan Lacy's injury status update on Tuesday finally gave Ole Miss fans a breather ahead of the Sugar Bowl.

In the thick of the preparations for their grudge match of the season against Georgia, Ole Miss had a crushing worry that their star RB Kewn Lacy would not play in the Sugar Bowl.

However, that tension was quickly put to rest as Lacy was listed as "probable" on the latest availability report, meaning he will most likely be playing against the Bulldogs on New Year's.

Here is the complete availability report (as of Dec. 30 update)

Besides Lacy, the Rebs could also officially welcome Dae'Quan Wright back after weeks of injury.

Lacy is coming off a shoulder injury that he suffered during their last game against Tulane.

Lacy, who led the SEC in rushing touchdowns in the regular season, is an offensive linchpin for Golding's squad.

“I was a full go [in practice], didn’t have limitations,” Lacy said to On3’s Chris Low.

“I’m ready to go," he added enthusiastically, explaining how it was just a "stinger in his ACL joint."

When asked about it, Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding was equally excited to see him get back on his feet.

“I am excited to watch (Lacy) got out and play and play really well,” Golding said.

With Lacy almost back in the game, Ole Miss's competition just got a lot more exciting.
