AD Keith Carter finally took a step regarding the off-the-charts rumors of Lane Kiffin leaving Oxford.
Although it is not the initially believed ultimatum, the Ole Miss AD mentioned needing some clarity, and now has taken steps to getting some.
Carter is reportedly preparing for a meeting with Kiffin this Friday, per ON3's Chris Low.

In the thick of the rumors, this meet is expected to give the clarity Ole Miss deserves at this point, in the least. If Kiffin won't be the one breaking his ambiguity, then AD Carter would.
For what it's worth, it was high time Carter laid down the law, now that the stakes of the Kiffin drama had Ole Miss' College Football Playoff future on the line.
The Rebel nation would be very much outraged if the athletics department let it get that far.
It would also brace the Rebels for whatever awaits them post-Egg Bowl, and before the College Football Playoff.
Lane Kiffin says he is not going anywhere before Egg Bowl
Post-Egg Bowl because Kiffin indirectly, yet clearly stated, that he would still be coaching at the Egg Bowl. That was the only hopeful thing Ole Miss fans got out of his recent SEC teleconference.
“Do you know something that I don’t know?” Kiffin said.
“Do I expect to coach next week? Why would I not expect to coach next week? I mean, I expected to coach against Florida too. So I don’t even understand the question about how I would not expect to coach next week. Why would I (not) be at work?”
For starters, it is him side stepping every question about the rumors, instead of going the good old "I'm not doing it" way.
Expect the update from the meet to send a massive shockwave across college football and a massive shakeup in the coaching carousel.
