The patterns never lie. Lane Kiffin continued to be on a roll in bailing out of places he is being counted on after taking on the LSU head coach role.

ESPN's College GameDay had to have Kiffin as their special guest during their SEC Championship broadcast after he made the hottest coaching switch in the past decade.

He, once again, left them all high and dry, as he backed out last minute.

"Welp had to stay in BR and still finishing some things out with players and a coach!!
Won’t make it to Atlanta for College GameDay," Kiffin tweeted at the very last minute on Saturday morning, just when the ESPN GameDay crew would have been probably preparing for their broadcast.

Lane Kiffin's shield was LSU's latest No. 1 overall recruit

The reason for Kiffin abandoning yet another important event, not as much as the Ole Miss Rebels' College Football Playoff run, but a commitment nonetheless, was LSU's latest recruit.

Kiffin's update came as a reply to the latest LSU recruiting update, with the Early Signing Period officially coming to an end.

According to the Rivals, the No. 1 overall prospect in the Class of 2026 on Friday.

Kiffin convincing Brown just days into his role as the Tigers' head coach is just another reason he was able to build such a talented roster at Ole Miss in just six years.

Brown's announcement came just a day after Kiffin outright gloated about stealing Ole Miss's commit.

Brown's choice reportedly boiled down to Texas A&M and LSU in late July, a race in which Kiffin apparently took home the win.

Ole Miss fans stood by the exact same mantra: Kiffin will bring home the College Football Playoff win, until he decided to change his home to Baton Rouge right before that game could happen.
