Even though Week 8 came with a loss that shattered their undefeated record, Lane Kiffin still got a memory that he will cherish for his life.
The win was quite personal for the Ole Miss football coach, as it was a win from his son, Knox Kiffin. The 16-year-old Oxford High QB led his school to a thrilling overtime victory over Germantown.
When asked about it, Kiffin had the single regret that he couldn't be present at the game.

“I mean, for a dad. I wish I could have been there, but I was watching it on the phone, you know, on the feed and there’s just something that only dads can explain about their kid playing ball and going down and winning the game like that. It was just awesome," Kiffin said in his press conference on Monday.
"You kind of wake up, the same thing when you have a big win as a coach, you know, you wake up and I can always say like, the sun’s brighter, coffee’s better, everything’s good, no matter what. Somebody can say something to you and you don’t even care. You know, like they’re honking at you and you just wave at them anyway."
Kiffin's fatherly love was clear as the day; however, it will be truly intriguing to see what he has to say if his son ends up playing for another school, or worse, a rival school in college.
Knox Kiffin to Ole Miss not happening
It is still too soon for the Oxford High School prodigy to enter the recruiting talks, given that he is a class of 2028 product. However, he has already started his recruitment visits.
One thing Kiffin seems set on is not going to his dad's program.
"I’m definitely not going to play for my dad. I want to do my own stuff," Knox said in an interview with Rivals earlier this month.
Instead, Kiffin's top choices are, surprise, surprise, the Rebels' historic rivals, the LSU Tigers.
Knox took a visit there following the Tigers' loss to Ole Miss. Other than LSU, Knox also attended the Alabama camp.
If it turns out to be the way Knox wants, it will most definitely be interesting to see what Kiffin has to say about his son's win as an LSU or Alabama QB.
