The Ole Miss fans now believe head coach Lane Kiffin's stock to be so high that he is immune to the constant coaching carousel chatter. Their standing in the 2025 CFP rankings only made them stronger.
That is why the entire Rebel nation knew Kiffin was just playing along with the Florida fans when he reposted a tweet of Florida benching their starting QB DJ Lagway against Kentucky.

While the post led Florida fans to believe that it was Kiffin's way of reinstating his interest as Billy Napier's replacement, Ole Miss fans saw it through for exactly what it was: a subtle hint at eyeing DJ Lagway in the transfer portal with Florida in shambles.
And they made sure all the Gators fans, pleading for the Lane train to come to the Swamp, knew it as well.

It was obvious to Ole Miss fans that it was Kiffin's attempt to hint at potentially targeting DJ Lagway in the transfer portal, and Ole Miss fans bluntly spelled it out for the Gators fans.
Floriduh fans will think this means he's coming for sure, and Ole Miss fans will think it means Lagway will be a @TransferPortal_ target of high priority. The rest of us just get to laugh on the sidelines.

Kiffin would have an unbeatable QB room at Ole Miss if he manages to flip Lagway from UF, and place him with Trinidad Chambliss and Austin Simmons.
And that's not even considering the media storm the transfer would bring.
The repost from Kiffin could spark a rumor storm as strong as the one sending him to Florida.
A contract extension with Ole Miss might put an end to the coaching rumors, but the Lagway poaching rumors could be here to stay.
