Lane Kiffin's name has been dominating the coaching carousel rumor mill for quite a while, and it isn't slowing down anytime soon.
Kiffin hasn't addressed any rumors linking him to other programs, a silence widely rumored to be on his agent Jimmy Sexton's instructions.
However, he recently made an admission that would resound in all upcoming rumors and probably make Sexton "really mad."
"I've seen too many examples in life where money does not buy happiness," Kiffin said Monday on The Pat McAfee Show.
"I am never going to make a decision over money, nor do I care about it. Jimmy Sexton gets really mad when I say that. 'We gotta get this, we gotta get this.' I'm like, 'Jimmy, I don't care.' He goes, 'I do!'"

Sexton might just be doing his job of ensuring Kiffin gets the best offers from whichever program is approaching him, but Kiffin not commenting on any of those rumors, be it accepting or denying any of it, is a direct repercussion of it.
The problem is that the repercussion is leaving several fanbases concerned and wondering at once. Perhaps the most restless o f them is Ole Miss.
Lane Kiffin has a solid reason to choose Ole Miss over Florida
After years of revamping their roster, the Rebels finally look in good shape to be a serious threat in the college football playoff. If Kiffin decides to leave Ole Miss at this point in the season (which, frankly, seems highly unlikely), it would leave the program ins shambles.
All the commitment he has shown during his time in Oxford just adds to why he would rather stay with Ole Miss.
And as for handling his team with the rumors, Kiffin has already covered that bit.
“I told them this is a product of how you guys play,” Kiffin said when talking about how he addressed the rumors to his team.
“They see the way you play. Fans are like, ‘We want that system and they say coach.’ Really, it’s the system of the players and assistant coaches and what a good job they do. I told them it’s a compliment to them."
For time being, the Rebels fans will have to wait and watch to know if these rumors hold any substance.
