The Ole Miss Rebels fans had one complaint from Lane Kiffin; he wasn't outright shutting down the Florida coaching rumors, which have gotten out of hand.

He may have fulfilled that wish right after he gave them a thumping 34-26 win over Oklahoma.

Lane Kiffin's aggressive response is the ultimate rumor killer

Ole Miss's win against OU was special not only because it was a redemption win for them following their first loss of the season last week against Georgia, but also because it gave them a tempting college football playoff resume.

Kiffin potentially addressing all the Florida head coaching rumors, or better, shutting them down bluntly in his signature aggressive way, made it more special.

"I'm not f****ng leaving," Kiffin appeared to say in his post-win on-field celebration, pointing towards the ground. It's not a certainty that those were his words, or that he was speaking in reference to the Florida job, but it's easy to connect the dots.

If so, it was the perfect answer Kiffin could have given, since it perfectly reflected his aggressive style.

Those four words alone should be enough to finally screech the intense lobbying from Florida fans to a halt.

Kiffin leaving an Ole squad that has almost made it to the college football playoffs, and a potential national title-contending team, for a job at Florida was as far-fetched as it sounded. Putting it in words drew the final line.

"I just mentioned it to them yesterday. That's a product of having a program with a lot of players and coaches doing a really good job," Kiffin said in his pre-game interview.

"I probably wouldn’t even have mentioned it, because they’ve been through this every year. Probably four years in a row, but we have so many new guys. I just told them, ‘Hey guys, that’s what happens around here because we win games and people like the style that we play in.' That’s all a compliment to the players."

With the Florida rumors now put to rest, Ole Miss being a realistic and formidable national title contender can finally get the attention it deserves.
