The Ole Miss Rebels are set to walk onto the biggest stage in school history, yet the gravity of their first-ever CFP quarterfinal feels like little more than a sidebar to the Lane Kiffin Show.

The 50-year-old has managed to milk the media attention every step of Ole Miss's journey. First was, of course, him hurrying across the tarmac to leave Oxford right before the Playoff.

Then came receiving a $250k bonus from LSU for the Rebels' 41-10 blowout over Tulane. And now, it's his possible attendance in Georgia rematch

Lane Kiffin could attend Sugar Bowl

"Lane Kiffin, the former Ole Miss coach now at LSU, may attend the Sugar Bowl along with someone else: Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry, Yahoo Sports Ross Delenger reported.

"Reached on Tuesday, officials at LSU and those with Landry did not dispute that the duo is at least considering attending the game, and security plans are being made for their arrival, those with knowledge told Yahoo Sports."

It goes without saying, Kiffin's presence in an Ole Miss game will be a total eclipse to the center stage that the Rebels and Golding deserve at this point.

The talks that should be about Ole Miss will once again be all about Kiffin, just like towards the end of the regular season when he stole the Rebels' CFP spotlight.

And if Ole Miss goes on to win and settle their record against Georgia, the headlines will once again have Kiffin plastered all over it, one way or another.

And that's not even touching upon the frenzy it send the Ole Miss crowd in.

Frankly, Ole Miss deserves better than this unnecessary drama at this point in the College Football Playoff.
