Lane Kiffin is still milking the Ole Miss cash cow from Baton Rouge.
Ole Miss's clinic 41-10 win over Tulane in their rematch Saturday still benefitted Kiffin through LSU.
Since Kiffin's move to the Death Valley was sio hurried, his term sheet with the Tigers stated an "ancillary benefits" clause, that would account for a payout if Ole Miss advances in the bracket.
Now that the Rebs have advanced to the quarterfinal round, Kiffin is due to receive a $250,000 payout from LSU.
On3's Nick Schultz reports, "That’s the same figure he would have gotten if he stayed at Ole Miss, under the terms of his contract with the program before leaving for LSU."
Ole Miss's wins are still Lane Kiffin's wins
And this is just the beginning. As Ole Miss advances further in the bracket, Kiffin would be due more paychecks.
"If Ole Miss advances farther in the bracket, Kiffin will continue to receive payouts. He is due to receive $500,000 if the Rebels make the semifinal, $750,000 if they make the national championship and $1 million if Ole Miss wins it all," Schultz continues.
Kiffin still benefitting from Ole Miss's wins, the team that he stranded right in the middle of the Playoff, is an ultimate lightening rod for the Ole Miss fans.
It almost feels like LSU rubbing it in the Rebels' face.
Whereas Kiffin collecting $250,000 for a win he had nothing to do with, while sitting on his couch when Pete Golding did all the heavy lifting, is as ironic as it gets for Ole Miss.
