Lane Kiffin's primary focus for bye week is the team that can break Ole Miss's undefeated streak

Call it the Uncle Ben curse, but Ole Miss Rebels football coach Lane Kiffin is dealing with some serious "with great power comes great responsibility." Just that this responsibility looks more like the expectations of continuing their undefeated 5-0 streak.

Ole Miss's remaining slate doesn't look like anything the Rebels can't handle with their current roster and a good fight at times if required, except for one: the Georgia Bulldogs.

Kirby Smart's Georgia has been slowly but steadily building a reputation for itself as a sure-shot college football playoff-level team. More than that, he is the same coach Kiffin learned his coaching ABCs alongside under Nick Saban.

Facing his squad will be no walk in the park, and that's precisely why Kiffin has decided to dedicate a good part of his bye week to preparing for Georgia, even if they face Washington State first after their bye week.

"You'd always have that issue to figure out normally without an extra week. So, for instance, for us right now, we're in here working on Georgia, but that's not taking away from Washington State. We're going to get to Washington State at the end of the week and still have a full week for them," Kiffin explained on Kirk Herbstreit's Nonstop podcast.

Fixing their roster problems and limiting their penalties are some of the few things that Kiffin plans to work on during their bye week.

"So we're working on ourselves, getting ourselves better in areas, trying some different players at some different spots, and things, because my message was, who cares that we're 5-and-0? That doesn't mean anything. Don't start feeling good about yourself."

"Like, how can we get better because we're going to need to get better. We're going to have to have less penalties and win the turnover margin, and not just be able to win the game like we were Saturday, without these critical factors and just outscore and outgain in people. So, we're really we're working on ourselves, but then also we're working on Georgia today."

Only time will tell whether the Bulldogs break Ole Miss's undefeated streak and throw a gauntlet down their surging college football playoff hopes (that is, if Washington State doesn't pull an insane upset over Ole Miss before them).
