Lane Kiffin is still playing coy about the Florida rumors, but he wasted no time to debunk the wildest gossip on record—there was no ultimatum from the Ole Miss.

The new height that Kiffin to Florida rumors saw last week surfaced a report from The Athletic about the Rebels needing a decision from him before the Egg Bowl with a contract extension.

Kiffin wasted no time in busting the rumor on Tuesday on The Pat McAfee Show.

"Yeah, that's absolutely not true," Kiffin asserted when McAfee asked about the ultimatum.

"There's been no ultimatum or anything like that. I don't know where that came from, like a lot of stuff that comes out there."

Instead, Kiffin diverted the attention back to the Rebs having a season of their dreams, and them having a bye week at the perfect time.

"Like I said, we're having a blast, I love it here. It just couldn't be better, like you just pray for things, our fans prayed for this, and now, we're in the middle of it. So enjoy it."

The simple comment from Kiffin will cut Ole Miss fans' growing anxiety in half, and they could finally feel the College Football Playoff thrill.

What he said today was just a reiteration of what he said post-Florida win when the fans at Vaught-Hemingway couldn't stop cheering "We want Lane."

"I love what we're doing here. I don't talk about that stuff. And to do that would be disrespectful to the players. Doing really well, and I love it here," Kiffin had said then.

All this said, we have reached a point where debunking a smaller rumor won't cut it anymore.

Until Kiffin pledges his commitment to Ole Miss directly, or through a contract extensions, the rumors sending him to Florida will stay.
