Loss of Lane Kiffin is surprisingly Rebels' gain when it comes to the CFP

The CFP committee released it's penultimate rankings after what could be called the most eventful weekend in this season of college football.

Lane Kiffin went on to become the villain, bailing on Ole Miss right before the College Football Playoff.

There was no way the Rebels would let him coach the Playoffs after the ugly stunt he pulled.

However, none of his stunts affected Ole Miss in their Playoff standings, as the CFP committee did not punish Ole Miss for Kiffin's doings.

The Rebels moved to No. 6 position from the previous week's No. 7 spot, after they took down the Mississippi State Bulldogs in a 38-19 Egg Bowl.

The top 5 teams didn't see much shakeup either. However, the Notre Dame-Miami debate continued to seep through into this week as well.
