The No. 8 Ole Miss Rebels released their latest availability report on Thursday, which brought good news for Ole Miss fans.
In the update released earlier this week, two key players of Lane Kiffin's offense, Dae'Quan Wright and Deuce Alexander, were listed as questionable because of undisclosed injuries.
However, in the update released on Thursday, both TE Wright and WR Alexander's injury status has been updated to probable, meaning they could most likely play against Oklahoma.
Kiffin has not shied away from praising both of them as crucial to the success of the Rebels' offense. Alexander's speed has kept the ball moving even in the toughest of games, and Wright's productivity has given a major boost to Ole Miss's red-zone efficiency.
That said, both of them were having a really bad day when they lost against Georgia last week.
When asked about it, Kiffin thought that if Wright had caught that missed pass play in the fourth quarter, Georgia would not have established dominance, and Ole Miss could have just won the game.
"No, I think he just, you know, we all have bad throws and, it’s really a crazy game too, because, you know, if you go back to we’re ahead, they have the fourth down at midfield. They run the fullback a little dive, and we got him stopped. Like what happens at that point?" Kiffin said in his post-game press conference.
"Now we’re ahead. Now there’s some momentum. We finally stop them –and then he goes through our tackles. And great job by him keeping his feet moving and makes the first down."
"And, I really felt that point was a really almost a slow motion moment of like, okay, this is the moment here we have them. We stop him here and this game really, really is headed a good direction and they made a play."
Even Alexander didn't have a record he could boast against Georgia.
All of it makes up for a major motivating factor for Alexander and Wright to redeem themselves against Oklahoma.
The Rebels head to Norman to take on the Sooners on Oct. 25.
