Oklahoma's defense is the No.1 nationally in scoring defense, and that is one of the main reasons why the odds slightly favor them over the Ole Miss Rebels.
The group also leads the nations in sacks (28), making them one of the most dangerous defense the Rebels will face this season.
Ole Miss OL Jayden Williams believes the group resembles Ole Miss's defensive front last season, because the Rebels led the SEC at 52 sakcs in 2024.
"I'd say this is like our group last year more than anything," Williams said. "You've got all the production up in the front. You've got good players who are young. Experienced players. A whole lot."
"They do play a lot of people. The edge, interior. When you've got a team that's got (28) sacks that's impressive. I don't care who you are, it's hard to get a sack. Especially in this conference," he continued.
That said, the Ole Miss offense will also be one of the toughest offense Oklahoma faces this season. Defense might have been Kiffin's strong suit in 2024, but 2025 is all about his offense.
Their QB, Trinidad Chambliss, has racked up big numbers in all the games he started, and he has had multiple touchdowns in all of them. And the players backing him up would be equally concerning for the Sooners' defense.
The Rebels have allowed just seven sacks so far this season, tied for second in the SEC, and gave up none against Georgia in their last game.
"I think we're playing real good together. We had injuries in camp. People floating in and out. Especially from like Week 1 to Week 2 to Week 3, each and every week we get to play we get better because we actually get to play beside each other for more than three days at a time."
"I think that's a big part of it and that why we're playing better than we were at the start of the year," Williams added.
Ole Miss takes on Oklahoma on Oct. 25.
