Trinidad Chambliss wants no part of Lane Kiffin drama entering the most important game in Ole Miss school history.
That is why the Rebels QB refused to comment on anything Kiffin in his pre-game media appearance on Monday.
"I don't think that's even allowed right now," Chambliss said.
While Chambliss has mostly steered clear from the Kiffin drama, this time it was more about an NCAA violation.
Transfer portal could be the reason behind Trinidad Chambliss's evasiveness
The transfer portal is about to open, and Chambliss isn't sure about what the future has in store for him as he awaits approval on his waiver for a sixth-year extension.
The QB could very much enter the transfer portal if his waiver gets approval, and reunite with Kiffin at LSU.
"He's right — technically. College football's single-window transfer portal opens on Jan. 2 and any interaction between the parties would be considered a tampering violation," CBS Sports' Brad Crawford explains why Chambliss making any comment on Kiffin could create major problems for him in the future.
Perhaps for this very reason, Kiffin avoided directly addressing Chambliss in his media appearance at the Houston Bowl earlier this week.
"Yeah, I don't know. This is tricky, since we have coaches back there and everything. They might say it's a violation if I talk about Trinidad and how good he is," he straight-up told the hosts.
Chambliss's sole focus might be getting Ole Miss its revenge against Georgia for now, but that doesn't erase the underlying anxiety about him entering the transfer portal on New Year's.
It will be the storyline of the season if Kiffin somehow successfully lures Chambliss to LSU after this season.
