Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff are rolling regarding the transfer portal. They picked up their fourth commitment in four days, their second from an Arkansas transfer, and the weekend may bring more.

Defensive back Jaylon Braxton committed to the Rebels late last night, just two days after he visited Oxford. It also came just hours after Arkansas transfer, and top offensive lineman from the portal, Patrick Kutas, committed to Ole Miss after a recent visit.

Another game-changing player heading to Ole Miss

When Lane Kiffin utilizes the transfer portal, he brings in a lot of players. However, he always looks to bring in players who can help the team achieve its goals.

Defensive back Jaylon Braxton is one of those game-changing players. The former All-SEC freshman was part of the 2023 recruiting class and a four-star recruit. According to PFF, Braxton allowed just one career TD in coverage from 248 coverage snaps.

Braxton started just one game last season before an injury wiped out the rest of his year. He has two years of eligibility remaining and enters an Ole Miss backfield that is losing several starters.

It's one of the big reasons plenty of portal players will choose to commit to the Rebels: seeing opportunities for starting roles. Not Braxton; he could start wherever he wanted, with Ole Miss happy it's with them.

He is the second Arkansas player to transfer to the Rebels, and he may not be the last, with others set to visit, the latest, tight end Luke Hasz.

There is a good chance that current Ole Miss linebacker Chris Paul Jr. may be one of the factors behind Razorback players heading to Oxford. Paul transferred from Arkansas last season and loved his one season under Lane Kiffin.

Paul has a decision of his own to make in the following months. Declare for the NFL draft, or stay for one more season with Ole Miss. Rebel Nation hopes it's the latter, being one of the best performers during the 2024 season.
