Ole Miss wasn't prepared for the absolute shocker that came with Cayden Lee announcing for the transfer portal. It left him with a WR room that had to be salvaged by a hostile takeover from the fresh transfers.
As the head coach of the No. 2 transfer portal class, it didn't take much time for Golding to recalibrate Lee's familiar explosiveness for a more electric, high-ceiling rotation.
The current Ole Miss WR room already has good depth, but it isn't affecting the recruiting roll Golding is on. The transfers are continuing to pour in for the Rebels.
Horatio Fields to Ole Miss?
The latest crystal ball momentum has former Auburn star WR Horatio Fields siding with the Rebels in the transfer portal, per CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz and 247 Sports' Gaby Urrutia.
While he initially committed to Missouri on Jan. 8, the four-star recruit had a change of heart. When he didn't enroll at Missouri after his commitment, rumors began swirling around the WR eventually wanting a way out. The Tigers released him on Jan. 27.

Now, he is back in the transfer portal with an industry-consensus crystal ball pointing squarely at Ole Miss.
2024 was supposed to be Fields' final collegiate year with Auburn. It was a smooth-going season for the WR as he played in four games, recording 12 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown until a broken foot that ended his season.
The injury gave him another year of eligibility, one that he is most likely to spend in the Grove.
With that, Fields will undoubtedly be a frontrunner for the WR1 spot, giving Deuce Alexander, Johntay Cook, and Caleb Cunningham a run for the WR1 spot.
Three of the four will most-likely make up the WR1 lineup, with the remaining one joining Darrell Gill, Isaiah Spencer, Traylon Ray, Cameron Miller and Dillon Alfred in the WR2 and WR3 lineup.
