Saturday added another win in Ole Miss football's resume with a 49-0 one-sided win over the Citadel.
The game did more than mark the Rebels' first shutout win since Week 1 in 2024; it gave Ole Miss the case they needed to stand strong in their rankings from the previous week's 2025 College Football Playoff rankings.
Ole Miss Rebels expected to hold their position in updated CFP rankings
The top six teams might not see much movement this Tuesday, as all teams ranked above Ole Miss came out winning on Saturday.
Ohio State held off Purdue, while Indiana flirted with an almost-disaster against Penn State. Texas A&M and Alabama brought home the win with their strong performance, while Georgia made Miss State struggle.
No losses in the Top 5 directly translates to any of them not falling out of the Top 5, perhaps just a little reshuffle.
Ole Miss, too, has a relatively strong win backing them up at No.6. In the least, it won't let them fall below that. Whether a shutout win can bump them up a spot will entirely remain CFP committee's decision.
Besides the CFP rankings, Ole Miss jumped up a spot in the Week 12 AP Poll Top 25 to No. 6.
