Ole Miss secured a thrilling 83-77 victory over Memphis in Oxford on November 11, 2025, avenging previous battles in this regional rivalry and moving to 3-0 on the young season.
The star of the night was Ilias Kamardine, who erupted for a career-high 26 points on hyper-efficient shooting, delivering basket after basket at crucial moments to hold off a fierce Tigers comeback.

From the opening tip, both teams set a frenetic pace, trading buckets and defensive stops as the game remained tight early. Kamardine soon found his rhythm, scoring 16 of his 26 in the first half while dazzling the home crowd with his mid-range touch and perimeter accuracy.
He finished the night 11-of-14 from the field, 3-of-4 from deep, and punctuated his performance with a high-flying dunk in the final minute to silence Memphis’ final run.

Ole Miss remained in control for most of the second half thanks to important contributions from Kezza Giffa (15 points, 5 assists), Malik Dia (13 points, 6 rebounds), and AJ Storr (10 points).
Ole Miss has a confident start to the season
The Rebels shot an impressive 51% from the field and 61% from beyond the arc, maintaining composure each time Memphis threatened.
For Memphis, Curtis Givens III led the charge with a career-best 20 points, including a surge late in the game that cut the deficit to just four. Dug McDaniel added 15 points and seven rebounds, while Ashton Hardaway chipped in 16.
The Tigers' press and relentless effort kept the outcome in doubt until the closing seconds.
A raucous SJB Pavilion crowd amplified the intensity, especially as the Tigers tried to force overtime.
In the end, Ole Miss held its nerve at the line to claim the win, setting up continued momentum as they approach their next matchup this Friday against Cal State Bakersfield for the Tad Pad throwback game.
Unfortunately, this was the last basketball game ever played inside the Coliseum, as it is set for demolition this summer.
