Wednesday's updated injury report was good news for Lane Kiffin.
West Virginia Mountaineers transfer WR Traylon Ray finally got the green light to make his debut for the Ole Miss Rebels this season.
Ray suffered a season-ending lower-body injury last season against Baylor. A surgery and months of recovery later, Ray was finally off the Rebels' availability report on Wednesday.
Ray was listed as "probable" on Tuesday's update, but was completely off from Wednesday's list.
The debut couldn't have come at a better time as Kiffin's squad faces one of their toughest and most important tests this season: LSU.
How Kiffin incorporates Ray is still the million-dollar question. It might be a game-time decision, or Kiffin might not deploy him against LSU at all, given his relative inexperience in being a part of the Rebels' offense and how high-stakes the game is.

Although the injury ended his season, Ray scored a total of 28 passes for 426 yards and four touchdowns in 2024, eclipsing his totals from his true freshman season across the board.
Austin Simmons also off availability report
The Rebels squad is getting all the good luck they can before Saturday, as their starting QB, Austin Simmons, was also off the Ole Miss vs. LSU availability report.
This means big deal for Kiffin as he gets to use both Simmons and Trinidad Chambliss against LSU. While Simmons is off the injury list, the chances of Kiffin actually making him the starting QB are still up in the air.
That is probably the decision that the Ole Miss fans are waiting the most for.
