Ole Miss has seen two instate wide receivers hit the transfer portal this past week and is looking for more playing time. Sophomore Ayden Williams was the first to enter, taking several visits. However, a crystal ball prediction is now in for his next destination.

Mississippi State insider Steve Robertson at 247Sports has predicted that Williams will transfer to the Bulldogs. The Mississippi native has been with the Rebels for the last two seasons, and now State is pushing hard to keep him instate.

Williams has recently visited East Carolina, shown around by former Ole Miss tight end Jayvontay Conner, who transferred in 2023. Other schools are interested in the Ridgeland, MS kid, including Florida, LSU, and Tennessee.

We will see if the crystal ball prediction holds any credibility in the next week or so when Ayden Williams will likely announce his new home.

Did not work our for the talented Ayden Williams in Oxford

Ayden Williams is a former four-star prospect and a top-100 recruit in the 2023 recruiting class. He was seen as the program's future and was expected to play a big part during his eligibility.

In his first year, he managed four receptions for 80 receiving yards. The expectation was he would kick on in his second season. However, he could not carve out a role and was overtaken by another second-year player in Cayden Lee, who now looks to be the No.1 receiver heading into 2025.

When Ole Miss added three receivers from the transfer portal, Williams potentially believed he might not see much action again, so he chose to find a new place to showcase his talents.

We wish Ayden Williams all the best in the future, whichever school he may transfer to.
