Ole Miss had one of its best weekends so far as blue-chip talent packed Oxford. One DB prospect in particular, however, left raving about the program Golding has built within just months of taking over the reins as a first-time head coach.
Seminary CB 2027 Stanley Peters Jr. hardly expected to be so moved by Oxford when he entered the Manning Center. It was the entire change in staff, and their deep-rooted connection with Ole Miss and recruiting world that set the Rebels apart this time from his previous visits.

“As soon as I walked in there the coaches showed me love instantly,” Peters Jr. said. “The first thing we did was the team meeting. They showed me everything before the meeting. It actually felt like I was a player.”
“It changed my outlook big,” he continued. “At first I thought it was going to be a normal visit. It was a dream come true to feel wanted. They’re all about keeping the best players in Mississippi in the Sip. They see me as a priority.”
Golding's vision when hiring a staff who have been in the same shoes as some recruits visiting the Grove is slowly taking shape, and doing exactly what he wanted it.
With majority of Golding's staff being Ole Miss alums and working closely with high school prospects, they know exactly what the young minds are seeking.
It showed with Peters Jr. that even though he has offers lined up from Mississippi State, Houston, Memphis, Southern Miss, and a schedule packed with visits to Tulane, UAB, LSU, Houston, and Memphis, the CB has made up his mind about his next visit.
He'll be back in Oxford on April 10 as his next trip back to Oxford.
