Lane Kiffin left Ole Miss threatening to poach it's staff. 15 days later, Pete Golding showed how Ole Miss would still do just fine.
Considering we're less than a week away from the first-round College Football Playoff games, Golding's Rebels are doing more than fine; they are thriving.
Amid the uncertain future of Ole Miss staffers, who are still reportedly interested in joining Kiffin's LSU team in the 2026 season, Golding is out in Oxford essentially rebuilding his whole staff right before the Playoff.
Pete Golding continues the hiring saga
On Sunday evening, Ole Miss football announced their latest hire in L'Damian Washington as their wide receivers coach.
Previously, Washington has had SEC stints as Kentucky's WR coach in 2025 and at Oklahoma in 2022, besides his short stints at Southern and South Florida.

WR coach isn't the only position Golding updated on Sunday.
Golding also added Ole Miss alum QB Michael Spurlock as the offensive assistant/ WR coach on Sunday.
Spurlock replaced senior analyst and inside receivers coach Sawyer Jordan.

These are only the latest additions to the saga of staff rebuilding in the Grove, which started with the hiring of JD Baker as their OC.
Then came getting former LSU staffer Kevin Bolden on board as part of the recruiting department.
Golding's recent hires, combined with key retentions for the Playoff, are clear evidence of his commitment to uphold the high standard Kiffin established at Ole Miss.
The rematch against Tulane in the first round of the College Football Playoff will be the first time Ole Miss fans actually get to see Golding's staff in action.
