The Philadelphia Eagles might still take a while before going through with that blockbuster A.J. Brown trade, and they just signed a one-year contract with Elijah Moore.
(Un)surprisingly, the update has Ole Miss fans a lot more excited than Philly fans. It's rare to see Ole Miss reunions after all, and this time they got one in a place they least expected.
Just a few days ago, Howie Roseman's words suggested Brown might not even be around anymore shortly, and now they have another ex-Rebel waiting to put himself back on the map with the Eagles' top WR.
Why A.J. Brown and Elijah Moore reunion means so much
What makes the reunion so nostalgic for the Rebel Nation is the two sharing a family-like bond. Brown was the 'big brother' mentor to Moore during the single year they played together at Ole Miss in 2018.
After the 2018 season, Brown immediately after completing his junior year, while Moore was still taking bay steps as a true freshman. Both were cornerstones of Matt Luke's legendary 'Nasty Wide Outs' (N.W.O.) room, which was a menace for the SEC back then.
Them only sharing a year didn't slow down them developing a bond for a lifetime, as Brown later opened up on Moore being his North Star when he hit a rough mental health crisis in 2018.
“He’s more than family,” Brown said of Moore. “I love him like he’s my brother. … He’s a special person. I appreciate him each and every day.”
Moore will join a WR room that includes Brown, DeVonta Smith, newly signed Hollywood Brown, Johnny Wilson, Quez Watkins, Darius Cooper, and Danny Gray.
