Ole Mis Basketball head coach Chris Beard secured his second commitment from the transfer portal in forward Malik Dia.
Belmont transfer forward Malik Dia committed to the Ole Miss Rebels on April 15. It's the second player Coach Beard has acquired from the transfer portal, with UNCG transfer Mikeal Brown-Jones committing on April 13.
Dia averaged 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game this season. His stats look more impressive, with Dia averaging 23.2 minutes of action per game. It will be the Tennessee native's third school in three seasons, starting his collegiate basketball with Vanderbilt.
The 6-foot-9 sophomore was rated a four-star transfer and ranked the No.9 power forward in On3 Transfer Portal Industry Rankings.
Ole Miss Women's Basketball Add Gurad DeeDee Hagemann From the Transfer Portal
The Lady Rebels added their first commitment from the transfer portal on April 14. Michigan State transfer guard DeeDee Hagemann committed to Ole Miss, a player Coach Yo has been a fan of for some time.
"Dee Dee is a dynamic guard that can score but loves to facilitate and set her teammates up for success! She is also a competitor that will fit right into our defensive system," Yolett McPhee-McCuin said about Hagemann.
Hagemann has earned numerous accolades during her three seasons with the Spartans, including the Big Ten All-Freshman team. She also ranked seventh in the conference in assists, averaging 5.2 per game.
It's the first of several players who could commit to the Lady Rebels this week, with Coach Yo looking to build on their third-place SEC finish the past season.
