Miami running back Henry Parrish Jr has declared his intention to enter the transfer portal. Could a reunion at Ole Miss Football be on the cards?

Parrish Jr has spent the last two seasons at the Univeristy of Miami, passing 600 rushing yards in both seasons with the Hurricanes. In both seasons, he led the running back room in yards, with Miami choosing a RB by committee strategy.

As a recruit, Parrish Jr committed to Ole Miss Football in 2020, one of Lane Kiffin's first commits as Rebels head coach. The Florida native spent two seasons in Oxford, with 2021 being his most productive season. He had 553 yards from 105 carries, serving as a productive running back group alongside Snoop Conner and Jerrion Ealy.

Two years away from the Ole Miss program, could Parrish Jr return to play under Lane Kiffin again? Yes, if it feels right for both parties.

It would be a familiar situation for Parrish Jr, with the running backs coach he followed to Miami, Kevin Smith, back with the Rebels under the same role. Kiffin knows what he brings to the running back room. He's an explosive athlete and a threat in the passing game.

The problem for Parrish Jr is that Ole Miss have three running backs in the room looking to carve out significant roles in 2024. Ulysses Bentley, Kedrick Reescano and LSU transfer Logan Diggs all have the potential to be the number one guy in 2024. Ole Miss could also go down the road of splitting carries between the RB room.

Parrish Jr has been part of a shared role as a running back in his last three seasons in college. Could he want to find a situation where he would be the number one guy?

We will see what the future holds for Parrish Jr, with a return to Ole Miss Football not out of the question.
