2. Will the offensive line take shape during spring practice?

The offensive line took a battering last season, with plenty of injuries and inconsistency across the season. It forced Lane Kiffin to hit the transfer portal, getting commitments from four top offensive linemen.

Two of those commitments were from the Washington offensive line that won the 2023 Joe Moore Award. Guards Nate Kalepo and Julius Buelow are likely starters in 2024 for the Rebels. However, the rest of the spots could be up for grabs.

One significant loss from last season is left tackle Victor Curne, with Kiffin using the transfer portal to replace him. North Carolina transfer Diego Pounds is a strong tackle with starting experience with the Tar Heels. However, senior Recce McIntyre will push Pounds for the starting spot at left tackle.

At centre, Caleb Warren has experience playing under offensive line coach John Garrison, with the fifth-year senior likely the starter at the start of spring practice. Transfer portal acquisition Gerquan Scott offers versatility across the interior line and could challenge Warren for snaps.

Jeremy James and Micah Pettus have starting experience for the Rebels, with Pettus arguably the leader to take the right tackle spot. The redshirt junior was arguably the best lineman for Ole Miss last season before a serious injury ended his season before the Georgia game..

John Garrison has adequate depth and flexibility in the offensive line room. Spring practice will tell us for sure. However, on paper, Garrison will be happy with how it looks.
