Ole Miss fans have been asking for offensive line help. Today, the Rebels fans got the second piece of that help from North Carolina OL transfer Diego Pounds.
Ole Miss have been very active in the transfer portal, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Despite the top talent coming into Oxford, Rebels fans have still been concerned about the lack of offensive line help. A few hours ago, Ole Miss had their second OL commitment from the transfer portal.
North Carolina transfer Diego Pounds had already teased fans about his potential commitment via social media a few days ago. Pounds posted a shark emoji with a question mark from his X account, formally known as Twitter. Today, he officially announced his commitment to Ole Miss.
Diego Pounds started eight games this season at left tackle while featuring in all 13 games for the Tar Heels. Pounds started as the backup in week one of this season before breaking into the starting lineup in week 2.
Pounds is a big OL, standing at 6-foot-6 and 330 pounds. The redshirt sophomore offers versatility for the Rebels, being able to play both tackle positions.
Pounds is now the second offensive lineman to commit to Ole Miss from the transfer portal. Earlier in the cycle, the Rebels landed a commitment from Southern Miss OL Gerquan Scott.
It doesn't look like Lane Kiffin has finished adding players for offensive line coordinator John Garrison. Kiffin looks to be working to get commitments from LSU transfer Zalance Heard and potentially Mississippi State transfer Percy Lewis.
