Ole Miss football has received positive news regarding several recruits from the 2026 class, the latest of which is a five-star offensive tackle. Jackson Cantwell dropped his top 14 schools, with the Rebels making his choices, including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and others.

Rivals rank Cantwell as the No.1 offensive tackle, while On3, 247Sports, and ESPN rank the Missouri native as No. 2. All four have Cantwell as the No.1 prospect from his state. The 6-foot-8, 305-pound tackle has visited several programs in 2024, hoping to organize a visit to Oxford.

Speaking to On3, Jackson Cantwell broke down each of the 14 contenders, saying this about Ole Miss's position.

"“Ole Miss is another great SEC program that will have a lot of success this year, and with the relationships I’ve built there and OL play I’ve observed I can see lots of success down the road to be imminent.”"

Cantwell comes from a family of Olympians, with his parents representing the USA at the Olympics. His father, Christian, won the Silver medal in the shot put at the 2008 Beijing Games. His mother, Teri, also competed in the shot put at the 2000 Sydney Games.

Whichever school Cantwell decides to commit to, he would want to compete in football and track and field.

Top 2026 defensive player Keenan Britt has Ole Miss in his top 5

Another top 2026 prospect reduced his list of schools this week to five. Four-star edge Keenan Britt dropped three schools from his top 8, now down to Ole Miss, Arkansas, Auburn, South Carolina, and Oregon. He is the younger brother of former Auburn linebacker K.J. Britt, who is now in the NFL with Tamp Bay.

Britt is the No. 12 rated player from Alabama and the No. 23 edge player per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He recently eliminated Tennessee, Florida, and Louisville from contention. Britt has scheduled his commitment announcement for July 29.

Ole Miss has yet to have a 2026 player commit to the program, but it is in a great position to potentially land some of the highest-rated prospects.
