It does not need to be said how different the atmosphere was inside a room in Williams-Brice Stadium, where Lane Kiffin and Jaxson Dart spoke to the media. Last week, it was after a crushing defeat to Kentucky. Yesterday, it was a 27-3 win over South Carolina, a team that had beaten the Wildcats this season.

The Ole Miss head coach was very positive about the team's performance but said some areas still needed cleaning up. Kiffin had to face a few distractions during the presser, and it's a good job they didn't happen last weekend.

Lane Kiffin humoured by press conference phone distraction

Understandably in a more joyous mood after last week, Lane Kiffin was left amused by a phone mishap during the South Carolina post-game press conference. While answering a question about the Gamecocks jumping offside several times throughout the game, somebody from the media's phone went off.

""It's always an old guy, then they can't figure out the phone either.""

Another phone, or maybe the same one, went off again, with a song by Nickelback then hitting, to the amusement of Kiffin, who simply said, "I wouldn't have guessed that."

Lane Kiffin and Jaxson Dart loving the Vanderbilt result

The significant result from Saturday was Vanderbilt's shock win over No. 1 ranked Alabama, with Lane Kiffin and Jaxson Dart enjoying the fourth-quarter action after the Ole Miss game finished.

Lane Kiffin broke off mid-question to ask how many timeouts Alabama had left with just over a minute to play. He apologised to the reporter before saying, "This is a once-in-a-lifetime thing going on. Better watch because we are not going to see it again."

Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart came into the press room after Kiffin to talk to the media, and the first thing out of his mouth was, "Shout out, Vandy." It shows how momentous that victory is for the Commodores in the landscape of college football.
