Since former Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins hit the transfer portal and signed with Ohio State, he has numerous times thrown jabs at the program that brought him to national relevance. Judkins was a former three-star recruit and a top playmaker in his freshman season before a drop in production in year 2 with the Rebels.
After an 11-2 season with Ole Miss, Judkins decided to hit the transfer portal. Rumors were that the Rebels were unwilling to match the NIL money offered by other programs, such as Ohio State. It was disappointing, but no hard feelings; you move on unless you're Judkins.
Ohio State running back takes swipe at Ole Miss game attendance
Over the offseason, Judkins has made several negative comments about Ole Miss and his players. The latest is the lower attendance at games in Oxford compared to Ohio State games.
""A one-of-a-kind experience.. Over 100,000.. being at Ole Miss I only got to see that at away games.""Quinshon Judkins
It's true the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium only holds a capacity of 64,038, while the Buckeyes' Ohio Stadium can hold 102,780; however, the population in Oxford, Mississippi is around 26,500, while the population in Columbus, Ohio, is around 908,000, so you see the issue here.
Ole Miss regularly reaches its total capacity, which says a lot, despite the city's population. So, if that was meant to be some shade being thrown again from Judkins, it doesn't work that well. It speaks volumes about how the coaches and players have not spoken negatively about Judkins after his departure. Still, the current Ohio State running back continues to utter his former team's name when he can.
Ole Miss fans hope for a potential playoff game against Ohio State to have the final laugh. It's a long way to go until then, so the Rebels need to do what they have been doing, concentrating on themselves.
