Ole Miss Basketball Center Moussa Cisse Enters the Transfer Portal
After four commitments this week, Ole Miss Basketball lost center Moussa Cisse to the transfer portal.
Former five-star recruit Moussa Cisse announced he is entering the transfer portal on April 20. Cisse played just one season under head coach Chris Beard after transferring to the Rebels from Oklahoma State.
During 2023/24, Cisse averaged 4.5 points and 4.6 rebounds in 26 appearances, starting in 17. High expectations were expected when he transferred from the Cowboys. However, Cisse struggled with injuries while sharing court time with Jamarion Sharp.
The former blue-chip high school recruit will not look for his fourth school, hoping to land on a team where he can find more court time.
Head Coach Chris Beard Will Look to Bring at Least One Big Man From the Portal
With the departure of center Moussa Cisse, Ole Miss is now left with transfer Malik Dia as its tallest player at 6 feet 9 inches. Cisse and Jamarion Sharp were over 7 feet, and Sharp was looking to make it to the next level, leaving Chris Beard with a glaring hole on the roster.
Coach Beard has already been looking for potential centers' in the transfer portal, with Ole Miss reaching out to several players. As of yet, they don't have a true center on the roster, so it will be highly likely that Beard will be looking for at least one player to help with the position group.
