Ole Miss Football: CM Decamerion Richardson commits to Rebels from rival team
Ole Miss landed another top commit from the transfer portal earlier from their in-state rivals. Cornerback Decamerion Richardson has announced his commitment to the Rebels from Mississippi State.
Ole Miss are giving their defense a near-full makeover from the transfer portal. In the last week, Lane Kiffin has added the top-ranked linebacker and edge from the portal. Add to that the third-best edge defender on top of other talented defensive players, Kiffin has Ole Miss balling.
Earlier, Kiffin did it again, grabbing the fourth-ranked CB in Decamerion Richardson per On3. It makes it sweeter that Richardson has moved from in-state rivals Mississippi State.
Richardson had been with the Bulldogs for the last four seasons, catching fire in the last two. Richardson had 79 tackles and seven pass deflections during the 2023 season on a strong Bulldogs defense. In 2022, the Louisiana native finished 9th in the SEC with 50 solo tackles.
Richardson has just one year of eligibility left but comes with experience playing in the SEC. He is a rangy corner who should slot straight into the line-up, with the Rebels starting corners exhausting their eligibility after this season.
Richardson becomes the ninth player to commit to the Rebels from the transfer portal. Lane Kiffin looks to be shooting for more than just making the new-look 12-team playoff in 2024. An SEC title is on his mind, with the Grove Collective backing him heading into next season.
Could the number one player in the transfer portal, Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolen be the final piece in the jigsaw? Ole Miss fans will be hoping for the good news to drop soon.
