Despite the disappointment of not getting a commitment from 2024 running back Kewan Lacy on Thursday, Kiffin has delivered earlier today. The Ole Miss head coach has landed a four-star QB in Anthony Maddox.

Despite the Rebels being very active in the transfer portal since it opened, we haven't seen much action from the 2024 recruitment class. That changed earlier this evening, with Kiffin getting a commitment from four-star 2024 quarterback Anthony Maddox.

Maddox, a Mississippi native, recently de-committed from Texas A&M, where he had been committed since February of this year. Rumours have been circling over the last week or so that Maddox could flip his commitment to Ole Miss.

Anthony Maddox is ranked a four-star quarterback and the number 28 ranked quarterback via 247sports composite rankings.

Maddox spoke to On3 recruiting, praising Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and the offense under current QB Jaxson Dart.

"“Man, Ole Miss is a great place. Coach Lane Kiffin, and Coach Weis together as an offensive mind is crazy, Seeing the production that Jaxson Dart has put in over 2 years leads me to think I could do even more once I get there.”"

Jaxson Dart has spoken about his future, with him not making a decision till after the Peach Bowl game against Penn State on Dec.30. Whatever the decision from Dart, Maddox will be a key part of the quarterback room. Potential game time if Rebels have big leads in games heading into the 4th quarter.

It's an important commitment for Lane Kiffin and the team, with a talented young signal caller for the future of Ole Miss.
